Catalis, Inc.
Catalis was a unique opportunity to develop software that was designed by the very people who would eventually be the end users.
- Developed web applications and GUI components to deliver Electronic Medical Record data to various types of personnel in a clinic scenario. Architecture was Struts based backend using JSP and AJAX (DWR) for content display. [Java, JSP, JavaScript, XML]
- Developed digital ink based input systems providing Doctors and Nurses with handwriting recognition capabilities when product was run on a Tablet PC. This required creation of a custom ActiveX control running within a custom build of Mozilla FireFox. [VB, JavaScript]
- Designed and developed validation and database import utilities for use with medical content created via Microsoft Excel spreadsheets. I created an Excel plugin that used an ActiveX HTTP Transport object to transfer the data via SOAP to and from a remote validation server. The validation server had a PHP frontend handling the SOAP calls handing off the received data to a Perl process that converted the CSV data into XML and validated against XSD/RNC files. Any errors found were immediately highlighted on the source spreadsheet. [VB, PHP, Perl, XML]
